These are arcade games, not simulations

The physics model in these games was tuned for responsiveness and readability on a screen. It keeps the parts of table tennis that make the sport legible as a game — an arcing ball, a bounce off the surface, a net that punishes flat shots, curve from spin — and deliberately drops everything else.

Nothing on this site is a scientific model of ball flight, and nothing on it should be treated as a description of how a real table tennis ball behaves. Guides that explain a mechanic are explaining our mechanic.

Not coaching material

Advice on this site is about playing our games. It is not coaching for the sport of table tennis, we are not qualified to provide that, and technique that works in an arcade game does not transfer to a real table.

For the actual rules and equipment specifications of the sport, consult the International Table Tennis Federation. We link to it rather than paraphrasing it.

Everything in the games is fictional

Every opponent, tournament, bracket, arena and character in these games was invented for Ping Pong Arcade. Names, playing styles and biographies are fiction. Any resemblance to a real person, living or dead, is coincidental and unintended.

No real athlete, club, federation, sponsor, product or competition result appears anywhere on this site, and no third-party logo or trade mark is used.

No affiliation

Ping Pong Arcade is an independent browser gaming site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to any table tennis federation, league, club, equipment manufacturer or professional player.

Use of the words 'ping pong' and 'table tennis' on this site refers to the sport generally and to arcade games inspired by it.

Scores and records

All scores, best rallies and progress shown anywhere on this site come from your own browser. There is no global leaderboard, no shared high-score table and no comparison with other players, because this is a static site with no server.

Where the site orders games by popularity, it is ordering them by your own play history and favourites on this device, and it says so on the page. That is not a site-wide statistic and is not presented as one.

Reaction times reported by the reflex games are measured on your device and include your display, your input device and your browser. They are useful for comparing your own runs and are not a clinical measurement.

No health or performance claims

Practice improves performance at the task being practised. Beyond that, this site makes no claim that playing these games improves reaction time, coordination, concentration or any other ability outside the games themselves. We have not tested it, so we do not say it.
